Tutorial – Exporting to Previous Software Versions

Tutorial - Exporting Objects to Previous Software Versions

Tutorial on how to export objects to be able to import into past versions of the MA2 software.

This video will go through the process of editing XML files for the purpose of forcing older versions of the MA2 software to allow importing of objects exported from future versions. This can be handy especially with fixture profiles that didn't exist on the version you're working on, or if you have a library of macros or effects you need to import but created it in a later version.

Tutorial – ArtNet Merging

Tutorial - ArtNet Merging

Tutorial on how to merge an ArtNet stream into your console.

This video will go through the process of merging an ArtNet stream into your console, so that people running other console types can take control of your rig running on MA-net gear. It will cover two different methods of accomplishing this. The first involves all DMX values in your console being forced to 0 (or 100, for less-common LoTP merges). The second involves creating a "zero" cue that stores every parameter of every fixture at a value that results in a DMX output of 0.

These same principles apply for performing a merge from an incoming sACN stream.

Tutorial – Make Your Own Temp-Page Key

Tutorial - Make a Temp-Page Key

Tutorial on how to make your own temp-page/"modifier" key in MA2

This video will go through the process of creating your own page-swap key, using DMX Remotes, a custom dummy fixture profile, and a flash Executor.

Don't wanna go through the mess? CLICK HERE to see the plugin installer I built for the job. One-click setup, faster key responsiveness, and you can use as many as you want in your show!

By the end of this video, (if you follow along) you will have built a key, which when pressed, loads a pre-defined page. When released, the original page is returned, allowing for quick access to executors you don't want killing your main executor space, such as changeover looks, house lights, group masters, etc. Or, you can think of it as a modifier key, like CTRL on a keyboard, so that while you're holding it, your executors have a different function from normal. This can allow you to access more executors on a smaller console.

Please note, if you try to incorporate more than one of these in your show, and you accidentally trigger one while the other is already going, you WILL get stuck on one of those pages.
