Playlist videos:

  1. Main plugin video (with MidiFighter Twister)
  2. Demonstration of use on APC40

Downloaded plugin package includes:

  • MA2 Plugin (installs and runs commands)
  • Bome MIDI Translator file
  • MIDI Fighter Twister configuration file

What the MA2 plugin does:

  • Installs + uninstalls the MIDI remotes for receiving the MIDI from Bome
  • Converts the MIDI commands into encoder rotations the desk can understand
  • The commands are understood as actual hardware encoder rotations and presses, rather than sending commands like "Attribute Pan At +1". This means your align functions will function normally, as if you were using a command wing or console.

Plugin Demonstration Playlist: 8 videos

This plugin was originally built for a client wanting a Christian Jackson style live-edited effect engine, back in 2016. Since then, it has found its way into my own file and been customized to how I run my own shows.

Besides installation and uninstallation, this plugin does use Lua live for effect adjustments, including operations like:

  • Changing the selection order being used with the current fixtures
  • Adjusting Width and Rate so that your Groups settings do not affect the visual "feel" of the effect

In addition to this, the plugin-based effect engine is able to dynamically alter:

  • Included fixture groups
  • Effect Group (Interleave) count
  • Phase
  • Width
  • Direction
  • Wings
  • Blocks
  • Rate

Plugin Version History:

  • v1.3.0
    • Original Public Release
    • (awaiting ignore-selection-order options from PosFX engine)

Upcoming Changes

  • "Ignore Selection Order" options from PosFX engine (during interleave effects)
  • Auto-creation of effect presets for later callback

Tested with MA2 Versions:

  • v3.9.51.2
  • v3.9.0.3
  • v3.8.0.0
  • v3.7.0.5
  • v3.6.1.1
  • v3.5.0.6

v1.3.0 Manual:

This plugin package will handle everything surrounding a "flash-function" key, which allows the user to have separate sets of commands executed on both the press and the release of a flash button. This allows the user to have quick access to specific views, pages, and surfaces; create non-latching MIDI controls for peripheral devices (like audio interfaces); and flash somebody else's desk lights until they're ready to punch you!

Downloaded plugin package includes:

  • Multi-user session support (making sure the right desk executes the intended commands)
  • Custom commands by giving the press and the release their own macros the user can edit
  • Lua-controlled queue-ing that ensures the user doesn't get stuck in unintended pages/views due to command timing disrepancies
  • A streamlined GUI system that keeps installation, uninstallation, and live functionality all together in the same plugin.
  • An additional, entirely self-managed network plugin to allow passing commands to other stations by the logged in user rather than by IP.

Plugin Version History:

  • v2.0.0
    • Upgraded release including multi-user support, custom commands, and View queue-ing support.
  • v1.1
    • Original public release
    • Page support
    • Single-user sessions only

Known Issues

  • UserCmd does not work immediately upon import. Plugin engine must be reloaded once plugin is imported (click [Reload] inside of any plugin, or type ReloadPlugins into the command line)
  • "Off" commands for installations will execute any time a station joins or leaves the session. This is due to DMX remotes being re-evaluated during session changes and re-executed if receiving an appropriate value.

  • v3.8.0.0

This plugin monitors your current cue on an executor and runs a timer to count down your time to the next [GO] press on that executor, based on that executor's information in a Timecode recording. Supports multiple timers running at once.
