This plugin was originally built for a client wanting a Christian Jackson style live-edited effect engine, back in 2016. Since then, it has found its way into my own file and been customized to how I run my own shows.
Besides installation and uninstallation, this plugin does use Lua live for effect adjustments, including operations like:
Changing the selection order being used with the current fixtures
Adjusting Width and Rate so that your Groups settings do not affect the visual "feel" of the effect
In addition to this, the plugin-based effect engine is able to dynamically alter:
Included fixture groups
Effect Group (Interleave) count
Phase
Width
Direction
Wings
Blocks
Rate

This plugin system is designed to be a position-effect equivalent of the ColFX/DimFX system, with some expanded functionality.
Besides installation and uninstallation, this plugin does use Lua live for effect adjustments, including operations like:
Temporarily raising or dropping the effect rate with a flash-function key (locally - no network usage)
Changing the selection order being used with the current fixtures
Determining when to use the selection order and when to use their patched order (for interleaved effects)
Visual feedback in the interactive layout
Group (interleave) selection
Splitting the rig into "chunks" for Block-Group mode
Phase size
Phase direction
Toggling symmetry
Toggling pan and tilt in the effect (and preventing situations of neither being enabled)
etc.

This plugin package will handle everything surrounding a "flash-function" key, which allows the user to have separate sets of commands executed on both the press and the release of a flash button. This allows the user to have quick access to specific views, pages, and surfaces; create non-latching MIDI controls for peripheral devices (like audio interfaces); and flash somebody else's desk lights until they're ready to punch you!
Downloaded plugin package includes:
Multi-user session support (making sure the right desk executes the intended commands)
Custom commands by giving the press and the release their own macros the user can edit
Lua-controlled queue-ing that ensures the user doesn't get stuck in unintended pages/views due to command timing disrepancies
A streamlined GUI system that keeps installation, uninstallation, and live functionality all together in the same plugin.
An additional, entirely self-managed network plugin to allow passing commands to other stations by the logged in user rather than by IP.
Plugin Version History:
v2.0.0
Upgraded release including multi-user support, custom commands, and View queue-ing support.
v1.1
Original public release
Page support
Single-user sessions only
Known Issues
UserCmd does not work immediately upon import. Plugin engine must be reloaded once plugin is imported (click [Reload] inside of any plugin, or type ReloadPlugins into the command line)
"Off" commands for installations will execute any time a station joins or leaves the session. This is due to DMX remotes being re-evaluated during session changes and re-executed if receiving an appropriate value.
This plugin will take user inputs for groups, color presets, and a few other parameters, and build a dynamic layout for color selection, which triggers executors in the background to which fade and delay timings may be applied. The plugin automatically generates all images, macros, worlds, sequences, and executors needed for this layout to operate. Uninstallation is as simple as running one macro.
Plugin Version History:
v2.6.1a
addition of Gobo Image Extractor plugin to download package
v2.6.1
ability to have your default groups, presets, and image combinations saved in your user-config, as an alternative to manually entering values every time
v2.5.0
Supports grid creation for all preset types
Added creation of preset combination macros to store a preset look and trigger multiple preset macros at once
Added option for use of custom images
Preset sequences can be stored for each individual group instead of all being stored to the same sequence with group filters on each executor
Added option to customize background color of generated Preset Grid layout
This plugin creates an interactive layout to quickly update presets for color effects in punted/busked shows. The plugin collects preset information and automatically generates the necessary macros and images needed for the layout to update color presets in the show file.
Plugin Version History:
v1.1.3a
bug fix to custom image builder
addition of Gobo Extractor plugin to download package
This plugin will take user inputs for groups, color presets, and a few other parameters, and build a dynamic layout for color selection, which triggers executors in the background to which fade and delay timings may be applied. The plugin automatically generates all images, macros, worlds, sequences, and executors needed for this layout to operate. Uninstallation is as simple as running one macro.
Plugin Version History:
v2.1.2

Known issue: incompatible with MA2 v3.1.2.5 (Lua message-boxes will crash software)
