Presets+FX Extractor

Description

This plugin builds an “updates” sequence that includes only the fixtures and presets actually used in any given range. This means that by updating this sequence’s presets, you will have updated everything relevant to your showfile – a huge time saver especially when walking into somebody else’s programming with limited update time.

Plugin features:

  • Input: a range of playbacks (Timecodes, Pages, Executors, and/or Sequences)
  • Extracts every preset, effect, and presets’/effects’ embedded preset from the range provided
  • Grabs only the fixtures using the found effects/presets and stores them into an executor for the user, organized by PresetType and color-coded based on usage.

FAQ

  • I have updated presets from the generated sequence, but the effects did not get updated for my show. What’s wrong?
    • If your presets were built as Template (no referenced fixtures stored into the effect line used), then they are saved to your cue as hard values – even if they show up as referencing the effect from a tracking sheet.
  • Why is the plugin taking so long to run?
    • The plugin uses Search commands to find where presets and effects are used. This command is slowed down the bigger a session gets, and in particular is slowed down by larger ranges of Sequences to check and by the number of fixture instances in your showfile.
